Bailey Road is a series of portraits shot over
the past 7 years of my aunt, Roberta, and her husband, Bob, at
their home in Northwest Ohio. Through photographing Roberta
and Bob we have found a way to record our history together
despite the differences of opinions Bob and
I have. I see photographing their union as a collaborative way to
record time and to connect through the process of image making
in a physical place that feels familiar, yet sometimes uneasy to
me. Documenting those closest to me is a mode I will always
continue as it seems appropriate to work within my own history
when possible. It is an on-going collaborative project, complete
with periodic audio and reflections on the process of being
photographed.
