A Collaboration was made collaboratively with fellows in the Queer Art Mentorship program. A Collaboration aims to cross reference the two ideas of how one is “identified” formally – through a traditional pictorial image (passport or ID photo, for example) and how one may personally identify in an image based way otherwise. All the diptychs here were made collaboratively with the subject. First each person was photographed in black and white as a head shot, and the second image we worked on together to best represent how each subject felt they would best be visually portrait-ed, sometimes as themselves again, and sometimes not.
